About Us

We sell the look, not the lineage

"Old money" is a way of dressing, not a bank balance. It means clothes that don't announce themselves: a navy blazer that fits, a white shirt with a collar that stands up, trousers that break where they should, loafers that were made to be walked in. Nothing with a logo you can read from across the room. Nothing bought to be noticed.

We sell that look. What we don't sell, and won't pretend to, is the lineage. There's no family firm behind this store, no "est. 1924", no tailor's shop passed down three generations. There's a range chosen by people who understand the style, a specification behind every piece, and an inbox that's answered by a person. We'd rather say that on the first page than have you find out from the label.

What the look is actually made of

Old money dressing looks effortless because it's built on a few things that are hard to get right and easy to skip.

Fabric weight. A blazer that's too light flaps; a shirt that's too thin goes transparent in sun. The look depends on cloth with enough weight to hang. We ask suppliers for the weight of every fabric in grams per square meter and list it where we have it; a supplier who can't give us a number doesn't get a listing.

Natural fibers, or blends that behave like them. Cotton, linen, wool, and blends that keep their drape and breathe. Composition is listed in the order it appears on the label, on every product page, so you can see what you're buying before it arrives.

Fit, across the size range. The look fails the moment something pulls. We ask for the measurements of every size, not just the sample, and we put the garment's own measurements on the page next to the body measurements it's cut for, with a plain line on how it runs: true to size, slim, or size up if you're between.

Details that hold. Buttons that are sewn on with a shank, hems that are stitched not glued, seams that are finished on the inside. These are in the construction notes if you ask for them, and we do.

A palette that lasts. Navy, cream, camel, olive, grey, white, and a stripe or two a season. Everything goes with everything, and the shirt bought in March goes with the trousers bought in October. That's not restraint for its own sake; it's what makes a small wardrobe look expensive.

What we won't do

Claim heritage we don't have. No invented founders, no fake founding year, no "handmade in" anywhere we haven't been. Country of origin is on the label, and our garments are made by suppliers outside the United States, as most clothing sold here is. What we stand behind is the selection.

Manufacture urgency. No countdown timers, no "only two left" when there are two hundred, no deadline that resets when you refresh. If a size is genuinely about to sell out, we'll say so once.

Overclaim. A blazer won't change your life. What good clothes do is quieter: you stop thinking about them, which is the entire point of the style.

Pretend to be a boutique. We're online only. The Scottsdale address in our footer is a business address, not a store.

Men's and women's, one standard

Both sides of the shop are bought with the same questions and described the same way. Where they differ, the page says so: chest, waist and inside leg for men's pieces; bust, waist and hip for women's; and our definitions of regular, slim and relaxed in centimeters and inches of ease. Care instructions come from the label. The rule for nearly everything we sell: cold, inside out, hang to dry; and for wool, a brush and a rest day between wears does more than any wash.

Ask before you order

Send the size you usually wear, the brand it's from, the piece you're looking at and, if you have them, your measurements. We compare them with the garment's own measurements and tell you which size and why, including when the honest answer is "not this one." We'd rather spend two minutes helping you choose than process a return.
